During September and October 2017 visitors had the opportunity to explore two beautiful historic East London buildings the eighteenth century Dennis Severs House and Sandys Row Synagogue.
The tours started with a guided tour of Sandys Row. Artefacts including a marble tablet commemorating King George V, a range of historic textiles and a reading desk cover presented by the Sandys Row Ladies Guild to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee were on show. Visitors then took a short walk to the nearby Dennis Severs’ House, which was built by a family of Huguenot silk weavers in 1724.
We hope to conduct similar tours in the future, to arrange a visit to Sandys Row please contact the administrator.
